Monaco Turn Down PSG Bid for Kurzawa
AS Monaco have turned down a £12.9 million bid from Paris Saint-Germain for the France U21 left back Layvin Kurzawa, that is according to David Wright of the Daily Express.
Paris Saint-Germain are keen to strengthen in the left back position, as Lucas Digne closes in on a move to AS Roma. Laurent Blanc wants competition for places and sees Kurzawa as an ideal candidate to challenge Maxwell in the starting line-up.
Although Monaco are keen to keep hold of one of their star players, the report states that should an ‘exceptional offer’ arrive, the club may be prepared to sell.
The figure suggested is closer to £18 million, which PSG could easily afford as Financial Fair Play restrictions are lifted and the club look to add more French players into the squad.
The report suggests that this opening bid may catch the attention of Arsenal and Manchester United, two clubs who have long been linked with his services. Monaco would prefer to sell the player to a club outside Ligue 1 if possible.
The 3-1 first leg defeat to Valencia last night has put the club’s hopes of featuring in the Champions League group stages under severe pressure, and this could welllead to Kurzawa leaving the club before the end of the transfer window as PSG look to return with another offer.
