Lille travel to the Stade Gerland to take on Lyon as Ligue 1 resumes this weekend after the international break. Both teams have had pretty average starts to the season and will be looking to kick-start their season with three points here.

Lille have started the season slowly with five points from four matches. On top of the poor points return, Les Douges have only been able to score one goal. After a sub-par start to the season with only seven points from four matches, Lyon was dealt a huge blow over the international break with the injury to Nabil Fekir.

As mentioned above, Lyon star Nabil Fekir was a victim of the international break and will miss at least six months after tearing his ACL in a friendly with the French national team. Along with the absence of Fekir, both Clement Grenier and Guedia Fofana are out with long term injuries. They’ll also be without new signing Sergi Darder as he is not match fit. It’s not all bad news for Hubert Fournier’s side though as star man Alexandre Lacazette will be back after recovering from his back injury over the break.

The scorer of Lille’s only goal this season, Sofiane Boful, will have to miss out after being suspended for picking up three yellow cards in his first four matches. They’ll also be without Franck Beria and Michel Frey through injuries. New signing and former Lyon man Yassine Benzia is a doubt and could miss his first shot at his old club after he picked up a thigh injury during the international break.

After winning this fixture last season 3-0 with a hat trick from Alexandre Lacazette, Lyon will be looking to do the same this season. The home side will be looking to new signings Claudio Beauvue and Mathieu Valbuena to pick up the slack of the injured Fekir. Lille will hope the international break has given them enough time to regroup and recover their goal scoring touch to help them grab the three points away from home.
